Weather Related Closings/Delays
Decision to cancel Head Start Classes
Each center will follow the snow closing decision of the main school district in that centers area as follows:
Greenwood, Fairview, Stevens, Juniata, Wright, Washington Jefferson and Penn-Lincoln will follow the direction of the Altoona Area School District
Claysburg will follow the direction of the Claysburg School District
Tyrone will follow the direction of the Tyrone Area School District
Williamsburg will follow the direction fo the Williamsburg School District
Martinsburg and Roaring Spring will follow the direction
will follow the direction of the Spring Cove School District.
Foot of Ten will follow the direction of the Hollidaysburg School District
Hollidaysburg will follow the direction of the Hollidaysburg School District
When the district announces a delay and no morning kindergarten the following schedule will be used:
Greenwood #1, #2, #3, #4 children will not have AM classes. PM classes will be picked up at regular time.
Greenwood , #8 - will not have class.
Greenwood #5 will not have class.
Penn-Lincoln children will report two hours later than regular schedule, dismiss at regular time.
Stevens -
children will be picked up two hours later than regular schedule, dismiss one hour later.
Fairview - children will report two hours later than regular schedule, dismiss at regular time.
Juniata - children will be picked up two hours later than regular schedule, dismiss at regular time.Transportation will be provided home.
Washington & Jefferson - children will report two hours later than regular schedule, dismiss at regular time.
Wright - children will be picked up two hours later than regular schedule, dismiss at regular time.Transportation will be provided home.
Hollidaysburg #1 children will not have class.
Hollidaysburg #2 - children will be picked up two hours later than regular schedule, dismiss at regular time.
Foot of Ten children will not have class.
Claysburg children will not have AM class. PM will be picked up at regular time, dismiss at regular time.
Martinsburg - children will be picked up two hours later than regular schedule, dismiss at regular time.
Williamsburg - children will not have class.
Tyrone School District children will not have AM class. PM will be picked up at regular time, dismiss at regular time.
Tyrone - children will be self-transported to the center. HS will transport home, dismiss at regular time.
When the district announces that school is cancelled for the day, there will be no classes or socialization experience at the Head Start center for that day.
